Pick three vocabulary words from Ch. 4 of Vocabulary Energizers I that you associate with this photograph. Then, in a comment, explain to me why you picked those three words.
This Manchester player most likely went in with malice, and was probably rankled by the other player, otherwise he wouldn't have done such a foul. However, he also might've done it because the other player was about to score, and so the defender thought it incumbent upon himself to stop him in any way possible. Whatever the case was, Manchester obviously won the game, and went on to lose to Arsenal.
Decimated, Succumbed, and Quintessence. I used decimated because the red team's player is completely taking down the blue and white striped team member. I used succumbed because the blue and white-stripped person is submitting to the force of the other man. I used quintessence because this is the perfect example of how soccer can be violent.
Quintessence, because practice is the quintessence of being a good and famous soccer player. Most teams believe it is incumbent upon them that they have to win every game. Some players are rankled when they don't make the goal.
The player in red decimated the other player, most likely the player in blue succumbed to the hit from the player in the red and fell down. The player in blue must have rankled the player in red for him to want to hit him that hard.
The blue player succumbed to the red player, who also decimated him. In addition to this, because the players are playing in that game means that they are the quintessence of soccer players.
The three words that I picked are decimate, quintessence, and fiasco. I chose decimate because usually the teams have an urge to decimate the other team. In this picture it seems like the red team wants to decimate the white team. The quintessence of soccer is is to win and score goals that is why they are fighting so hard to get the ball. The last word that I picked was fiasco because when you lose a game, which one of these two teams on the picture it , it is a fiasco. It is even more of a fiasco when you lose a championship game.
The three words I would pick are decimate, quintessence, and rankle. The red player decimated the blue player and these two are quintessence of the sport soccer because they are putting so much effort into what they do. All players are rankled when either the other team scores a goal or they miss a goal.
The three words I would associate with this picture are fiasco, quintessence, and narcissism. It is a fiasco for the player in blue and white because the player in the red is taking the ball from him. These two soccer players are the quintessence of muscular athletes. Some other players on the person's on the red's team might fell he is being narcissistic because he is a ball hog.
I picked decimate, fiasco, and rankle. I picked decimate because it looks like the red player is decimating the blue player. I picked fiasco because it looks like when the players land, they might be in a little bit of a fiasco. Lastly, I picked rankle, because the blue player looks like he's a little rankled.
The red player is decimating the white and blue because he is jabbing infront of him with his leg. After the event there might be a fiasoco because niether of them look happy. They look like quintessence because they are profesional soccer players.
Quintessence, rankle, incumbent. Quintessence- This is a quintessence of how to get yourself and another person hurt while trying to kick a soccer ball. Rankle- If you want to rankle a player on the opposing team, this picture shows you a great way to do this. Incumbent- The player in red appears to have thought it incumbent upon himself to injure himself and the player in white.
protean, fiasco, succomb I chose the word protean, because athletes are usually very different during the game, then they would be with friends and family. I also decided to use the word fiasco because when rivals are playing each other people can get very excited and cause a fiasco. I used the vocabulary word succumb because even when the players get tired they can not succumb, because they don't want to let down their loyal fans.
Idiosyncracy because I just don't understand why athlete's always have strange facial expressions in photos. Rankle because they are clearly having a close encounter. I also see decimate because one team could easily be decimating the other team in terms of the score.
I choose decimate, quintessence, and rankle. I chose decimate because the red player looks like he is dominating the blue player if you look closely at their faces. I chose quintessence because they look like professional athletes in their uniforms and with their strong muscles. Finally, I chose rankle because their could be fights on the field between players, which can get annoying, or the referees might just be really annoying and make terrible calls.
The three word I would pick would be decimate, quintessence, and rankle. I would use decimate because these athletes are destroying whoever crosses their path, when wanting the ball. I chose quintessence because of the athletes in their uniform and their endurance. The last word that I chose was rankle. The blue guy who is getting kneed in the gut probably feels rankled right there.
I picked the words quintessence, rankle, and succumb. I chose quintessence because looking at this picture, I can see exactly what an aggressive soccer player looks like. Rankle is another word that I would use because of the harsh faces that each player has on their face, making them look intense and sort of angry. My last word is succumb. I chose this word because it looks like the white time succumbed to the aggressive play of the player on the red team.
I chose succumb, decimated, and quintessence. I chose succumb because the blue player had to succumb to the red player. I chose decimated because the red player looks like he is not only "destroying" the blue player, but is also tearing up the fields. I chose quintessence because the red player is a perfect example of a good soccer player.
I chose the words succumb, decimated and rankle because they are all in common and have to do with over coming something like in this photo, one player is over coming the other. The blue and white player succumbed to the red player and didn't win the ball. The red player decimated the blue and white player and rankled him.
the words i chose were succumb, decimate, and narcissism. I chose succumb because the white player succumbed to the effort put in the play by the player from Manchester. I chose decimate because of the reaction of the white player he looks like he got hit really hard. Finally, i chose narcissism because it could be implied that the player from Manchester could be full of narcissism because he makes the play look effort-less.
The player in the red jersey probably felt it incumbent upon himself to get the ball. He's just decimating the other player. I mean, he certainly isn't holding back! This picture is the quintessence of obvious fouls.
The player in white will succumb to the brutal hit. The memory of getting hit will rankle the player in white for years to come. This hit is the quintessence of what soccer really is.
